Day 7: 10th June. Copenhagen.
We spent the better part of this day in the picturesque capital of Denmark.
The Kastellet from one of its drawbridges across the moat.
The Little Mermaid, one of the most identifiable symbols of the Danish capital, was the creation of Denmark (and Copenhagen's) most famous sons, Hans Christian Andersen. Every tourist here has had their photo shot with this lady of the seas.
And then we saved the best for last today: Helsingor. The castle here was once the landmark all sailors returning home would lookt our for. Elsinore, the old name, would be heralded as the arrival to their homelands. Across the channel lay Malmo, the Swedish town that has recently been flourishing extremely well since the new bridge linking Helsingor and Malmo was established.
